BlackStack Brewing is now an all-day operation. The brewery has added coffee and pastries for early mornings and sandwiches and salads from Nelson’s Cheese and Deli for the lunch crowd.
The sun-filled expansive taproom feels like a great place to have some coffee and get some work done, especially when they’re serving True Stone coffee and Patisserie 46 baked goods. There’s a full espresso program, and there are specialty coffee drinks that include bitters and other funky ingredients.
Co-owner Cooper Johnson said the building tenants were in need/want of a coffee shop/cafe, and BlackStack decided to take it on. There was another bonus to being open early, too.
“The neighborhood has so many third-shift workers who wanted a beer after work that this works out nice,” Johnson said.
So that’s a yes, they are serving beer all day as well.
Business has been good so far, Johnson said, but beware that Nelson’s is closed during most of the run of the Fair, so selection might be limited until after Labor Day.
BlackStack opens at 8 a.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
