BlackStack Brewing Announces Appointment of New President

ST. PAUL, MN / ACCESSWIRE / March 7, 2024 / BlackStack Brewing is pleased to announce the appointment of David Mosher as its president, effective February 12, 2024. Mosher fills the position previously shared by owner and CEO Shawne Murphy Johnson and company founder Scott Johnson, who unexpectedly passed away in April 2023. As president, Mosher will lead BlackStack's expansion into new markets throughout Minnesota. Murphy Johnson, who is part of the company's leadership team, will continue to head up the company's product development and marketing initiatives.
Mosher started working for BlackStack in July 2023 as its sales manager. In that position, he was responsible for managing BlackStack's distribution network and the company's sales team. Before joining BlackStack, Mosher held positions as vice president of sales at Lift Bridge Brewing Co. and national sales director at Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.

Founded in 2017 by the Johnson family, BlackStack Brewing started as a taproom and event space in the American Can building in St. Paul's Midway-Hamline neighborhood. Since then, it has gained notoriety for its hop-forward beers, lagers, fruited sours, and hemp-derived THC drinks. In January 2024, BlackStack signed a distribution deal with Artisan Beer Company that will give more Minnesota consumers an opportunity to enjoy BlackStack's products. Mosher will oversee this partnership as well as the company's overall distribution strategy.
