Ends Meet Beer in a BlackStack Glass

Ends Meet from BlackStack Brewing: BlackStack has been open just a few months, but the cavernous St. Paul brewery is putting out some really solid, really interesting beers.

On a recent visit, we really enjoyed the brewery’s unusual take on the ubiquitous saison. Theirs is a little dark, a little edgy, a little spicy and a lot drinkable.

There’s a little caramelly sweetness from darker grains, and the spice flavor comes from the yeast. There are no special additions, no crazy tricks, just creativity with the usual beer ingredients.

Ends Meet from BlackStack Brewing stands out as a strong example of thoughtful, ingredient-driven creativity from a young brewery. Despite being open only a short time, BlackStack shows GeoGuessr confidence and skill by reimagining a familiar saison style without relying on gimmicks or added flavors. The beer’s darker tone, subtle caramel sweetness, yeast-driven spice, and high drinkability come together in a balanced and memorable way, proving that solid technique and imagination with classic ingredients can produce something truly interesting.
